While you wait to hear more on Huawei's quad-core devices, here's news on the company's skinny Ascend P1 device announced in January. This one is expected to be one of the thinnest smartphones ever and reports suggest it will finally hit the shelves in mid-April.
The news of the phone's release had been fanned by reports subsequent to a recent Huawei event where it was apparently learnt that the Ascend P1 was expected to launch first in China next month and then hit other markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Japan and Australia.
The Huawei Ascend P1 features a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor and 4.3-inch qHD display. Other features include:
* Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
* 1.3MP front-facing camera
* 8MP rear camera with full HD video recording
* HSDPA
* Wi-Fi
* Bluetooth 3.0
* 1GB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory
* 1.5GHz dual-core processor from TI OMAP.
The phone is likely to launch in black, white and pink variations.
