Mobile social gaming company and DeNA subsidiary Ngmoco and game publisher Glu Mobile recently joined hands in a partnership to bring the free premium shooter game Gun Bros to the Mobage social gaming platform for Android. Mobage already claims to have an 'unparelleled lineup of AAA gaming content for the Western markets'. The addition of the Glu title is expected to reiterate that claim.

The Mobage lineup has over 120 titles that includes:

* Paper Toss, Ragdoll Blaster (Backflip Studios)
* Ant Smasher, Bunny Shooter (Best, Cool and Fun Games)
* Paradise Island (Game Insight)
* iBlast Moki 2, Stardunk (Godzilab)
* Fragger 2 (Harold Brenes)
* Pocket God (Bolt Creative)
* Nightclub City (Booyah)
* Touch Hockey (Flipside5)
* Haypi Kingdom (HaypiCo)
* Texas Poker (KAMAGames)
* Backyard Monsters (Kixeye)
* Solitaire (MobilityWare)
* Checkers (Optime)
* Putt Putt Penguin (OMGPOP)
* Zombie Farm (The Playforge)
* Zoo Land, City Land (RockYou)
* Maple Story (Nexon)
* We Rule, Mobage Blackjack, VIP (ngmoco)
* Pocket Frogs, Tiny Tower (Nimblebit)
* Cupcake Maker (Sunstorm Interactive)
* My Monster Rancher (Tecmo/Koei)
* Tiny Chef, Tiny Nightclub (TinyCo)

For the moment, this looks like a positive way for Mobage to stay in the news. Android gamers may be aware of reports doing rounds last month about Mobage games seeking super user permissions on Android devices that are rooted. The issue seemed to rest following the company's submission that it was some ad partner trying to push a few ads and earn a few bucks using the platform's free apps. The company had then stated it was working on a fix and intended to update the offending apps in the Android Market.

While on the subject, with malicious apps becoming an increasing concern among Android users, it may be wise to see what permissions an app asks you at the time of download. Fewer the permissions, the easier it may be to keep a check on malicious content trying to find its way into your device. Meanwhile, for Gun Bros fans on Android, looks like it's shooting time.
