T-Mobile USA recently expanded its Bobsled Calling service by adding Bobsled Messaging to its offering. Bobsled Messaging is a cloud-based messaging application that will allow consumers to send and receive messages (one-to-one and group) from any Android smartphone or tablet, and practically any device with an internet connection. Users can create groups from their contact list irrespective of the carrier or device. The app essentially combines SMS and IP messaging into a multimedia messaging solution.

While adding the new facility to its service, T-Mobile also announced that users of its Bobsled Calling service will now be able to make free calls over their data connection using their mobile and Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The mobile app will allow users to make free outgoing calls to the US, Canada or Puerto Rico from any location, provided they have an open data connection.

Interested users may visit the Android Marketplace and download Bobsled Messaging for free download.
