NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor is becoming popular with android tablets. Due to growing demand of this processor, Acer has announced its Iconia Tab A510 android tablet. Unveiled at the NVIDIA booth, this tablet boasts of some amazing features such as the 1280×800 vanilla LCD screen. Acer A510 10.1-inch tablet is the first Acer tablet to have the Android 4.0 platform. Many hail the Acer IconiaTab A510 Android 4.0 tablet as the next-in-line to the Acer Iconia Tab A500.
Here are the specifications Acer IconiaTab A510 Android 4.0 tablet:
• Processor: 1.3 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 3
• Operating System: Android 4.0
• 10.1-inch multi-touch capacitive touch screen
• Screen resolution: 1280×800
• Memory: 32GB, expandable to 32GB with SD card
• Camera: Rear Camera- 5 MP with flash, Front Camera- 2 MP
• 802.11 b/g/n
• Mini USB port, HDMI out port
• Battery: 9,800 mAH
For a high-end ICS, the above specifications are quite apt. The 9,800 mAH battery, however, makes the Acer IconiaTab A510 a class apart. This tablet is a little bulky due to the large battery. However, this has its positive side, such as 12 hours of video playback. This is definitely better than ASUS Transformer Prime.
With Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and Acer’s User Interface (UI), the Acer IconiaTab A510 gives users easy access to apps. This tablet comes preloaded with Polaris Office 3.5 software app. It also has an Olympics Games logo at the back as Acer is sponsoring the London 2012 games. It is not known if this logo would be available in manufactured units.
Android tablets are in great demand. This may create confusion among buyers. Priced at a modest $449.99, the Acer Iconia Tab A510 fares well in terms of price, performance, and battery life. In the US and Canada, this tablet is available for pre-order. However, Acer is yet to confirm the shipping dates.
