Stylus back in action- Stylus-friendly apps to flood android market

The Bloomberg report, recently confirmed that with the right set of apps and devices, stylus is a fun tool to use, and that it can become an eye candy yet again. This report clearly dismisses what Steve Jobs had said two years ago. Let us talk about the smartphones that support stylus. The first name that comes to my mind is the Samsung Galaxy Note. This Smartphone has a beautiful stylus support. What I believe is that stylus is wonderful tool that requires the right apps to make its features come alive.

Let us talk about the “Draw Something” mobile game from OMGPOP. Although this game does not resemble the standard state-of-the art mobile game with incredible graphics, it has crossed the 20million download milestone. And this number is just for five weeks after its arrival! Perhaps its ease of use, ease of playing, and simplicity make it a sough after app. If you want to become a “Draw Something”, all you would have to do is guess words from your friends’ doodles, or doodles from words. Now for doodling fast, a stylus comes handy. Using your fingers for drawing is time consuming and tedious. Also, stylus offers more accuracy compared to your finger.

In the last months, the popularity of stylus has soared high. AluPen’s makers, Just Mobile, said in an official statement, “our sales have doubled due to Draw Something”. Accessory manufacturers such as Spigen, Ten One Design, and Griffin Technology are also happy about the increase in their sales due to rising demand of stylus. Seems the stylus is all set to make a comeback, and this time in a powerful way!

The Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the most successful android devices on the bloc. It would not be wrong to say that it has become popular because it has a stylus that makes the 5.3-inch “phablet” a great tool for business and entertainment. Five million units of the Samsung Galaxy Note have already been shipped across the world, and soon figures are expected to touch 10 million!

Some popular apps for stylus are ColorBox HD, Penultimate, and Notability. However, when it comes to overall popularity “Draw Something” wins hand down. This app is working great on android phones and tablets, thus helping promote the comeback of the ‘once forgotten’ stylus.
For the time being, we cannot confirm or be sure if the stylus arrival is momentary or permanent. However, I am sure that the functionality and usefulness of the stylus should not be overlooked. In my opinion, the stylus is a great tool for working with apps that require speed and accuracy. Use the stylus and make your android Smartphone alive with digital experience!
